How It Works

A Simple Idea: Interrupt Aggression Before It Escalates

PEACE PAWZ™ is designed to help reduce unwanted aggression between cats by redirecting an aggressive cat's attention before an encounter escalates.

Rather than relying on electric shocks or painful deterrents, PEACE PAWZ™ uses a brief buzzing sound and gentle vibration to interrupt the cat's attention and create an opportunity for calmer interactions.

With repeated use, the goal is to help the aggressive cat develop a more peaceful response to the presence of other cats.

How the System Works

Step 1: Two Cats, Two Tags

The passive cat (the one being targeted) wears a Transmitter Tag. The aggressive cat wears a Receiver Tag.

Both tags must be present for the system to function.

Step 2: Automatic Detection

The Transmitter Tag continuously emits invisible pulses of infrared light. When the Receiver Tag detects those pulses within approximately a couple of feet, it automatically produces a buzzing sound and mild vibration.

The system responds to proximity, not to aggression itself. It may therefore activate during nonaggressive encounters.

Step 3: A Gentle Distraction

The sound and vibration are intended to interrupt the aggressive cat's attention, much like an unexpected tap on the shoulder.

If the cats separate or the Receiver Tag no longer detects the Transmitter's signal, the correction stops.

Step 4: Learning Through Repetition

Over time, repeated interruptions may help the aggressive cat learn to avoid unwanted confrontations. The goal is to encourage calmer interactions without using electric shocks or painful punishment.

What to Expect

Changing established behavior takes time. Some cats may respond quickly, while others may require weeks or months of consistent use. Results vary, and behavioral improvement is not guaranteed.

PEACE PAWZ™ is intended as a supportive tool, not an instant solution or a replacement for appropriate veterinary or behavioral care.

Be patient, observe your cats, and give them an opportunity to learn. Discontinue use if either cat shows signs of distress.

An Example: Minnie and Rambo

Minnie is relaxing on her favorite sofa pillow, wearing the Transmitter Tag. Rambo, wearing the Receiver Tag, approaches her and appears ready to initiate an unwanted confrontation.

As Rambo comes within range, his Receiver Tag produces a brief buzzing sound and vibration.

The unexpected sensation interrupts his attention. Instead of continuing toward Minnie, he may pause, turn away, or redirect his attention elsewhere.

As the cats separate, the Receiver Tag stops activating.

Each successful interruption creates an opportunity for Rambo to experience a calmer interaction. With repetition, this may help reduce unwanted confrontations, although individual results will vary.

What Makes PEACE PAWZ™ Different?

The patent-pending PEACE PAWZ™ system combines proximity detection with automatic sensory cues in a compact, wearable design.

Key features include:

  • No electric shocks: Uses sound and vibration rather than electric shock deterrents.
  • Automatic operation: Activates when the Receiver Tag detects the Transmitter's infrared signal.
  • Small and lightweight: Approximately 0.2 oz per tag.
  • Easy attachment: Designed to attach to most suitable cat collars.
  • Always-on electronics: No switches or daily charging required.
  • Extended battery life: The Transmitter Tag is designed to operate for approximately one year. Receiver Tag battery life depends on activation frequency and may also approach one year with infrequent corrections.
  • No customer battery replacement: Batteries are not user-replaceable. Do not open or disassemble the tags. Contact Peace Pawz for authorized battery service.

Multi-Cat Households

PEACE PAWZ™ can be configured for households with more than two cats.

One Aggressive Cat, Multiple Passive Cats

Place the Receiver Tag on the aggressive cat and a Transmitter Tag on each passive cat being targeted.

When the aggressive cat approaches any of the protected cats within detection range, its Receiver Tag can activate.

Multiple Aggressive Cats

Place Receiver Tags on the aggressive cats and Transmitter Tags on the passive cats they target.

Important: Two cats wearing Receiver Tags will not trigger one another. If two aggressive cats are targeting each other, one must wear a Transmitter Tag and the other a Receiver Tag for the system to operate between that pair.

Because the Transmitter does not produce a correction, this arrangement only provides a deterrent to the cat wearing the Receiver Tag.

Important Considerations

PEACE PAWZ™ is intended for healthy adult domestic cats living indoors. Its effectiveness depends on factors such as temperament, environment, proper tag placement, and consistent use.

The system does not identify aggressive intent or distinguish friendly encounters from aggressive ones. Always monitor your cats, particularly during initial use, and discontinue use if either cat shows distress.
