Will this hurt my cat?
PEACE PAWZ Tags will not hurt your cat. When activated, the Receiver Tag will vibrate and emit a rattling sound.
How long before I see results?
Modifying a cat's aggressive behavior takes time, so please be patient. We ask that you give your cat at least 6 weeks to begin to alter his/her behavior.
Will this work for every cat?
PEACE PAWZ Tags may not work for every cat in every environment. With that said, they can be incredibly effective at reducing aggressive incidents. Please be patient, giving them at least 6 weeks to begin to show results. Animals learn through repetition, and over time, the mild negative influence that the cat experiences when being aggressive is expected to improve their behavior.
What is the range?
When the Transmitter and Receiver Tags get within about two feet of one another, and are facing one another, the Receiver Tag will activate. The range is a function of distance, angle, and incident light.
Is the sound loud?
No. The rattling sound is quite mild and meant only to get the attention of the aggressor animal.
Can it be turned off?
The vibration and rattling sound can only be turned off by removing the battery.
Can phone cameras set off the Receiver Tag?
Yes, modern phone cameras emit pulses of infrared light. This mimics the Transmitter Tag's pulses and can activate the Receiver Tag. To avoid false activation, try to keep your camera phone at least four feet from the Receiver Tag.
Can I use a different collar?
Yes, the PEACE PAWZ Tags can attach to many different types of collars. When attaching, make sure that the PEACE PAWZ Tag hangs down under the chin of the cat.
Can I use PEACE PAWZ Tags on kittens?
No. PEACE PAWZ Tags are to be use only on healthy domestic adult cats. Kittens often show what might be considered aggressive behavior as part of their natural maturing process.
How long do the batteries last?
Battery life of the Transmitter Tag is approximately 1 year. Battery life of the Receiver Tag is a strong function of how often it activates. With infrequent activation, it could also last a full year. With more frequent activation, that time could reduce significantly.
Can the batteries be changed?
Yes. To change the battery in either tag, use a small flathead screwdriver to pry the two halves of the tag apart. Remove the old battery and replace it with a fresh one. Then snap the two halves back together. We sell replacement batteries and a tiny screwdriver useful for separating the two halves of the tag.
Is it waterproof?
No. While PEACE PAWZ can certainly take a little splash of water, they are not waterproof and should never be immersed. If they are immersed, remove the battery and allow the internal components to dry. Then insert a new battery and reassemble the unit.
How is this different from shock collars?
PEACE PAWZ Tags do not use any form of electrical shock.
Can it be used outdoors?
PEACE PAWZ Tags are designed for indoor use only. Sunlight can cause the Receiver Tag to become less sensitive, or, in some situations, to activate.
