Battery Type: PEACE PAWZ™ Transmitter and Receiver Tags use CR1225 button cell batteries. You can order them from us or buy them at many retailers. Use good quality batteries for the longest battery life. 

Battery Life: The Transmitter and Receiver Tags are nano-powered devices. Battery life of the Transmitter Tag is approximately one full year. Battery life of the Receiver Tag is a strong function of how often it issues corrections for undesired behavior. With infrequent activation, it could also last a full year. With more frequent corrections, that time will be reduced.

How to Replace: Replacing the battery is a simple but delicate process.

1) Remove the collar and Tag from your cat.

2) Use a very small flat head screwdriver to GENTLY pry the two halves of the Transmitter or Receiver Tag apart. There are small slots for this on each side of the Tag for this.

3) Use the same thin screwdriver to push out the old battery from the rear of the battery holder. Please do not remove the circuit assembly.

4) Fully insert a fresh battery in the same orientation (+ side up). Double check polarity before inserting battery.

5) Line back up the two halves of the Transmitter or Receiver Tag and GENTLY snap back together. Be certain that they are properly aligned before snapping together. 

6) Reinstall the collar and Tag on your cat.
